Meet our new Client Services Director, Francois d’Espagnac
We’re delighted to welcome Francois to the agency as Client Services Director. With 15 years experience working client and agency-side at McCann, BBH, Sid Lee and adidas, Francois is no stranger to leading teams and creating award-winning work internationally. We caught up over a coffee, to find out what makes our newest addition tick.
What first attracted you to the saintnicks?
The people I met throughout the process. Everyone showed what I was after: agility, ambition, huge optimism, and a fun bunch to spend plenty of time with. saintnicks has also got great international clients which strikes a chord with me, having worked on plenty of global pieces of business before.
What do you love most about what you do?
Knowing that out there, somewhere – there’s a great brief and a great idea to make happen. And that this idea could transform a business, a category and the way things are done from that moment on. That’s the exciting bit. Not to mention that tingle you get before every creative review.
Is there one piece of work in your career that you’re most proud of?
The Chivas Regal Success is a Blend campaign was a career defining piece of work I loved working on back at McCann in London. Rooted in both consumer insight and product, it was beautifully written and perfectly crafted. The campaign ran around the world and significantly moved the dials for Pernod Ricard.

How do you keep your finger on the pulse with the latest campaigns?
There’s plenty going through but I tend to go to Little Black Book, David Reviews, Campaign, ads of the world. I love seeing what comes from all around the globe and imagining what the brief could have been. WARC and the IPA are also great for case studies.
What are you most looking forward to at saintnicks?
Working with my team to create the best possible work for our clients and the agency.
Your career so far has led you to a number of European cities. Do you have a favourite?
Oh that’s a tricky one! I’ve been lucky to live and work in Paris, London and Bristol and loved each of them for different reasons. My favourite has to be the one where it all started, Paris, where I try to go back to a few times a year to see friends and enjoy everything it has to offer. It is very shortly followed by Bristol of course!
Fancy getting in touch with Francois to talk all things briefs, blends and Bristol? Let’s get something in the calendar. Drop us a line today.
